L/\UNCH Academy: Dance Short: "Normal Girl"
2m 14s
"Too many girls grow up feeling the pressure to fit unrealistic expectations that society has for them. Girls believe they must adhere to a “perfect” image and fit the mold of every society's standards. The beginning of this video is shown through the 'his' perspective of women. His perception follows the girl’s attempt to fit the “picture-perfect” woman he desires. The girls are shown to have a wild, irrational obsession with being the most favored girl. Yet, as the song continues, the perspective switches, allowing the audience to follow the girls' growth as they come to the realization that they don’t need to fit the stereotype of a “normal girl”. They eventually realize that they shouldn’t change themselves in order to please any one, or conform to their fantastical expectations. The “normal girl” mold they have grown up wishing to fit will never be filled. There is no such thing as the perfect “normal girl”, and the idea of what a “normal girl” possesses will never be within reach."
